Aqeeqah &
Animal Sacrifice

Why Sacrifice an Animal

To offer an Aqeeqah or sacrifice for a newborn child is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his companions used to perform Aqeeqah when they were bestowed with a newborn. 1 sheep is sacrificed for a girl and 2 for a boy.

One nation is working in the following countries to provide an Aqeeqah:

How many times will I receive my feedback report

We estimate that each well will take 6 months to complete. This is because we ensure that the site is thoroughly inspected and chemically tested for water purity, and planning permission is sought from local authorities, after which we begin the building process.

How long does the sponsorship last

12 months if paid annually. If paying monthly, then it will continue until donor chooses to end the sponsorship

How long will it take for a child to become a hafiz

3 – 5 years on average.

Please Note: As the situation in Syria is very unpredictable, families often relocate in search for a better life and economic stability hence the child could leave the hafiz programme without notice. A new child is then allocated to the donor.

What feedback is provided

1. One Nation will provide you with a profile within 2 months that will show you the child you are supporting along with some background information.

2. A personalised video of the child will be sent to you with a short message for you and your family.

3. An end of year report will be sent to you displaying the progression of the hafiz and their ambitions.
