LIBYA FLOODS EMERGENCY APPEAL
Thousands of people are feared dead after a powerful storm triggered devastating flooding in the North East areas of Libya on the 11th of September. According to some reports over 5,000 people have lost their lives and thousands more are missing.
The eastern cities of Benghazi, Sousse, Derna and Al-Marj were all affected.
Two dams in Derna – home to approximately 100,000 people – reportedly collapsed, submerging much of the area and drowning many residents.
One Nation will be appealing for emergency packs which cost £50. (zakat applicable). Each pack will have essential items such as food, water, blankets, medical and hygiene items.
