To offer an Aqeeqah or sacrifice for a newborn child is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Alhumdulillah for your newborn child, we are offering Aqeeqah do be completed in Syria where the meat will be distributed to the orphans and widows. Aqeeqah, in Islamic terminology, is defined as a sacrifice of an animal on the occasion of a child’s birth.Our team have performed many Aqeeqahs. They are to be performed by the parents or the guardians of the child. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions used to perform Aqeeqah when they were bestowed with a newborn.
1 sheep is sacrificed for a girl and 2 for a boy. The following is a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) where he advised Aqeeqah of a goat/sheep.
Narrated Umm Kurz: The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Two sheep which resemble each other are to be sacrificed for a boy and one for a girl (Sunan Abu Dawood Book 15, No. 2830)
