BANGLADESH FLOODS Appeal
Update July 2026
Days of relentless monsoon rainfall have triggered catastrophic flash floods and deadly landslides across Bangladesh, leaving widespread destruction and pushing hundreds of thousands of families into crisis.
Entire villages have been submerged, homes swept away, roads and bridges destroyed, and communities left completely isolated. Families have been forced to flee with nothing but the clothes they are wearing, while many remain trapped by rising floodwaters with little or no access to food, clean drinking water or medical care.
The worst-affected areas include Chattogram (Chittagong), Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Moulvibazar and surrounding districts, where floodwaters have overwhelmed homes, farmland and critical infrastructure, making it extremely difficult for emergency aid to reach those in desperate need.
The scale of the disaster continues to grow.
Current reports indicate:
- More than 1.1 million people have been affected.
- Over 267,000 households have been impacted by severe flooding.
- At least 51 people have tragically lost their lives.
- Thousands of families have been displaced from their homes
Among those hardest hit are the Rohingya refugees living in Cox’s Bazar, home to one of the world’s largest refugee settlements. Torrential rain has caused devastating landslides and flooding throughout the camps, destroying fragile shelters built on unstable hillsides. More than 51,000 Rohingya refugees from over 11,000 households have been affected by hundreds of weather-related incidents across 33 camps, while lives have tragically been lost and thousands have been displaced to safer locations.
One Nation has launched an emergency response to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to families affected by this devastating disaster.
